What to expect

DAY 1 – Arrival into Nairobi

JKIA – Hotel

Meet and greet at JKIA by our driver/guide and transfer to your hotel for check in. Relax after your long international flight and enjoy the beautiful garden & outdoor pool. Depending on the arrival flight times, we will organize a group event to explore Nairobi landmarks or visit the Nairobi National Museum and plan for an early evening dinner.

DAY 2 - Nairobi

After breakfast, proceed to David Sheldrick elephant orphanage. David Sheldrick Animal Orphanage is located in a secluded area of the Nairobi National Park, where orphaned baby elephants amongst other animals are taken care. The orphanage is run by Daphne Sheldrick (wife of the late famous Naturalist, David William Sheldrick who was the founder Warden of Tsavo East National Park in Kenya from its inception in 1948 to 1976). Open from 11 AM - NOON, this is when baby animals are brought from the National Park for a mud-bath at the orphanage, where for an hour you can get close to them and sometimes touch them.

Thereafter, we will head to the home of the pioneer Coffee farmer – Karen Von Blixen, now reserved as Karen Blixen Museum. A visit to this museum provides an opportunity to step back in time and gain an insight into this remarkable woman’s life. Views of the famous Ngong Hills can be admired from the beauty landscaped gardens of the Museum. Karen Blixen is the author and writer of the famous book “Out of Africa”.

Lunch will be served at Karen Blixen Coffee garden.

After lunch, we proceed to the Giraffe Centre. This is Africa’s pride of International celebrity. Since its founders, Jock and Betty Leslie Melville rescued a baby giraffe named Daisy from a heavily poached area of Western Kenya in 1974, their home has become a household name among wildlife lovers worldwide – and Daisy a star in her own right.

Overnight: Fairmont (Norfolk) or Movenpick Hotel or similar subject to availability. (B/L)

DAY 3 - Nairobi – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, we depart for Lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch at the lodge.

Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake in Kenya, lying northwest of Nairobi, outside the town of Naivasha.

It is part of the Great Rift Valley. The name derives from the local Maasai name Nai'posha, meaning "rough water" because of the sudden storms which can arise. This is the highest elevation of the Kenyan Rift Valley at 1890 metres. There is no visible outlet but it’s believed there is an underground outflow.

After lunch, you will have a chance to do an hour boat ride around the lake where you will come into close contact with hippos. In addition, you will get to walk among the herbivorous animals with a guide on Crescent Island.

Late afternoon you will visit the Elsamere Conservation centre and Trust.

Overnight: Enashipai Resort & Spa or similar subject to availability. (B/L/D)

DAY 4 – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, depart for a full day activities to the Hell’s gate national park. Hell's Gate National Park lies south of Lake Naivasha in Kenya.  Hell's Gate National Park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the Rift Valley. It is famous for Game viewing, raptor nesting in cliffs, spectacular Gorge walk and the Olkaria Geothermal Station among other things. You will also have a chance to experience a guided biking tour.
