Tropical fruits, spices and other rare species of plants are among the different vegetation to be seen on this guided tour. It is not only a tour but a rare experience to prove why Zanzibar is referred to as the “Spice Island”. This three hour tour begins and ends at your hotel via Kidichi Village, to view the Persian Baths built in 1850 by Seyyid Said bin Sultan (first Sultan of Zanzibar) for his wife Princess Shehrzard (granddaughter of Fateh Ali Shah of Persia). At Kizimbani Village you will visit spice farms to see, smell and taste varieties of tropical fruits & spices.
Zanzibar produces many fresh spices including cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, black peppers, root ginger, vanilla sticks, lemon grass, nutmeg and many others. Tropical fruits include jack fruit, bread fruit, pineapples, bananas, coconuts, mangoes, malay apples more. Rare plants such as henna bushes, lang lang (perfume tree), lipstick tree are to be seen. Visitors get the opportunity to see the local people at their daily chores and interact with them.
